Ayurveda - Nature Delivered
The origins of “The Science of Life” or Ayurveda (Translation of Ayur is Life and Veda means Knowledge) are as ancient as mankind. Ayurveda is the oldest continually practiced form of medicine in the world having a positive concept of health to be achieved through a blend of physical, mental, social, moral, and spiritual welfare. Ancient texts and healers in India perfected the art and science of natural health and beauty from that time! Ayurveda promotes positive health, natural beauty and a long life. It is based on certain universal principles and this was first recorded thousands of years ago. Ayurveda is considered by most as the “Mother of all Medicines”.

These five elements form the basis of the three doshas in Ayurveda:
- Vata which is composed of Air and Space or Ether
- Pitta which is composed of Fire and Water
- Kapha which is composed of Earth and Water
Each individual have the presence of each of the five elements and so the doshas in unique proportions which make up our Prakruti or constitution. This can be disturbed by any type of stress leading to an imbalance known as Vikruti. In Ayurveda the disease is treated on a customized individual basis after deeply understanding the root cause,.
I am sure that we all have memories where our grandmothers and elders had a homemade recipe passed down through generations for treating various ailments and beauty rituals and remedies. Most of these had roots in Ayurveda – be it drinking certain brews for cold and coughs, to hair oils or face and body packs and scrubs! These remedies are still relevant till date and continue to work like magic!
